these blokes will all say 19" rims with lots of dish : but rubber is very pricey at that size.

Just look at tire websites and what these blokes have got, and get what you like.

or go with massive chrome rims up front and 14 inch steelies on the rear because that is the cool thing to do these days. :|

The 17" Tickfords have a couple big advantages.
1. Rubber is cheap
2. They suit the AU2 very well (they should, they are Ford rims)
3. Insurance love them as they are factory "option" rims (as far as they are concerned) rather than aftermarket.

EA18 - if you get wheels that everyone else likes, you should havce bought a Commodore. Why not make the decision yourself and then see what reaction you get. It's your car, it should be your choice for what wheels you get.

Having said that, Apec Apaches look alright and they come in 17 to 19", chrome, shadow chrome, silver, white etc.

I reckon the best are the AU1 XR6 rims.

Some might say that they would "date" the car ie, back to a series 1 rather than series 2 but I wouldn't care, they look awesome.

I also agree with Casper, good with insurance companies too.

The series 2 Xr6 wheels are also great, and $800 sounds very good to me.

Anyway, whatever you decide, I hope you're happy with your purchase!

All the best with it,

GK

On non XR AUs, I personally think series 1 XR 17"s look trick, provided you lower the car as well.
