ok just a little poll here on what you would choose.
if you had a choice between and EL FAIRMONT Ghia and an NL FAIRLANE Ghia that were identical to each other in every way, and all other further cost would be the same as well (same paint colour, engine/box/diff, Kms, trim options, rims, service history, petrol costs, insurance costs, services, rego and whatever else) which one would you choose and why? I would have to say, EL FAIRMONT Ghia (must have 5ltr, body kit, sunroof, low k's, low price... in other words, all options etc)... only because i prefer the styling of the fairmont compared to the fairlane (less grandpa spec, lol).

NL for sure. Lowered V8 riding on some nice 17's, leather. Plenty of room for the bodies in the boot.

I'd have to say the NL... I get tired of reaching around to wack the kid that keeps kicking the back of my seat! The NL has a bit of a longer reach, harder for pre-pubescent kids to kick my seat!

I voted for EL because I had this exact same decision to make last year and that's what I chose.

I'd go an EL, they just look a bit better! Tough call though.

All other things being equal there is only one consideration you didn't cover - cost. The NL will be a better proposition to buy but will be not as good when you come to sell. The Fairlanes depreciate a lot more than the Fairmont Ghias for some reason. Rightly or wrongly, I expect it is because a lot of people probably think the Fairlane is too big for carparks and also uses more fuel.
I'd go the Fairlane ... |

Dammit, I wanna change my vote. I've changed my mind and would take an NL if it was all the same (ie. supercharged and stroked to 347 etc etc hehe)
