Default Interest in a Vic - Adelaide weekender

Its about time the Mexicans repaid the visits and went to Adelaide. We've talked about it for a while now. Who wants to go on the 11 - 13 march?

11th is sat and the 13th is labour day.

There is 2 ways we can go, princess fwy or western fwy, the later being shorter.

Im sure monty can organise some sat night drinks and a cruise on sunday. Accomadation would be cabin style i guess but that can be sorted out at a later stage. If people are keen add your name to the list and also if you are willing to take some people. You'd probably want to be sure that your car will actually make it there and back too,

I'll start

1 NZ room for 2 or 3

1 NZ room for 2 or 3

I'll be going to the AFD here in SA, (just to check it out not to enter) I reckon it would be good to catch with some of you boys and put a face to the names.

thats an excellent idea Karl.
yes march 12th is the AFD here. We've been given a large area to display our cars (we've got room to display something like 50 cars lol), so if anyone wants to jump in for that, that'd be cool.

We could organise a saturday night cruise, followed by drinks, or something similar. maybe a post afd cruise.

see how much interest you get and we'll go from there.

Same here! I don't remember much about Adelaide so I'm curious to know what it's like. Yeah you can come with me. We can share some of the driving duties ;)

Its about an 8 hour trip from Adelaide to Melb from what I have heard and sticking to the limit. Maybe u guys should consider swapping drivers every couple of hours so the driving duty isnt all on one guy. Only if the owner of the car is ok with htis of course. Should be a good trip for u blokes thats for sure!

with regular stops for drinks/leg stretching, its fairly easy for one driver. but you have to have at least one other person in the car to chat with and keep you company, as it gets damn boring.
and get a decent sleep the night before....

and having UHF's in the cars is a good idea to, even just the small handheld ones.

one last thing, interstate roadtrips rock lol

Ive done Adelaide-Ballarat in just over 5hrs

But Melb--Adelaide budget 9hrs including lunch.

The drive is easy if you have somone to talk to as phil said, one person can do it easy as pie. Do it at night, with people asleep in the car, and max of 80kmh its HARD.

John and I had planned to go over Friday and return home Monday, for AFD. It definitely wont be too far for a 1 driver trip, it's only about an 8 hour drive anyway!
A friend of mine in a cortina is going to come with John & I aswell, will be fantastic if a few others go!

I reckon I might make the trip too, the only real thing that would stop me would be money, so i guess i should start putting a bit away. I'll confirm closer to the weekend.

I will be going yes, but I guess John and I will have to sort out whether we're going to go when we planned and catch up with you there, or go with the rest of the group.

Best to talk to phil (montyv8) about any after AFD details as he most likely will have a plan. We normally do a cruise after the awards have been handed out, and we usually go to the bay or somewhere while there is still light so anybody else can take pics.

Yeah its an easy one person drive as long as you have a passenger. It only took me about 7hrs or so to get from Geelong to Adelaide, so wasn't too bad. Be good to see all of you Mexicans over here!

And Adelaide probably hasn't changed much at all since some of you were here last... I don't recall much change over the years lol.

And Rob, you'll love the water... its fully awesome. At least your teeth wont rot with all the flouride in it! haha
