And DYO stands for?
I think I can guess what its about...you say before you run what time you will do and then the closest wins? maybe.... congrats though

Dial your own. I think.
You give them your best time. You race against someone else. One car is either handicapped or gets a headstart worth the difference between the best times for both. At the end of the track the winner is the one with the best reflexes. If you go faster than the time you gave you lose.

Dial Your Own.
basically as you said Al. you say what time u will run get as close to that time without going quicker. its handicapped so the slower car will get a head start. if you go quicker then ur dial time, the other person wins. if both go quicker, the one thats over by less is the winner. the idea is to be consistant.

it's awesome watching a 10-12 second car chase down a 15-16 second car.

Well done Ash.. goes to show you don't need a dedicated drag car to bring home the bacon. A well deserved win.

Thanks very much everyone! This thread's just put a massive smile on my face
The car performed flawlessly all night. Every single run was between 15.40 (quickest) to 15.55 (slowest). In the right conditions read: colder I think it could go a bit quicker. On one particular run, the car did 91.44mph with a slow 2.32 60ft so I'm very happy with that. As for the DYO, I'm still a little bit shocked that I won it. I haven't actually won anything since my junior Tennis days about 10 years ago. I couldn't believe it when I rolled past the timing booth after the final and motomk said "goes to show horsepower doesn't always win" A bit later on I'll post a pic of the oversize cheque and trophy. Thanks again to the AFF Admin and organisers, it was a fantastic day ;) Ash

Great work Kenaz.
You got me on the first run, I thought that we were going to have a pretty interesting race till I missed 3rd gear - a couple of times! Good to see the el running so consistently.
