Vinyl (records)!

Hey just wondering how many of the members on here are into vinyl (records)? I've only recently (re)discovered it, bought myself a turntable and raided an old collection of records. Found some really good records, right now just spinning through a live recording of John Denver, not bad at all. I've also found a very clean and scratch free copy of Cold Chisel's East album!

Anyone else?

I've got heaps of them - need some good software to rip them into MP3s - something that will break them into tracks automatically...

yeh i got a few vinyls but they have techno on them

. i used to have a fair few legit old vinyls but they are at home now and i dont have a turntable ot anything at the new place. vinyl is good stuff.

Yeah , i have about 300 albums and over 1000 45' singles !
Love the old sound of vinyl.
I also have an old werlitzer juke box , but I have to find out whats wrong with it one day ! I bought it cheap cause it isnt working !

i only own hiphop vinyls
i love collecting them...the cover are wicked

I collect old rare metal LPs for bands I'm into. I got my first album in '84, Twisted Sister's "Stay Hungry". I got a Pioneer turntable for my birthday a couple of years ago (thanks babe!), and I should really play my records more often. My favourite stuff is my Suffocation LPs (everything they've released on vinyl, except a clear vinyl version of their current album which is far too rare...), as well as old Immolation, Incantation, stuff, etc.

Here's a handy little gadget that i use, comes with decent software.

I've still got a large collection - have been gradually migrating them to CD.
All that is really required is a turntable, amp and a decent sound card with stereo inputs and some decent software like Just Audio or Acoustica that breaks up tracks and goves you a range of clean up tools to deal with clicks, pops and 50 Hz hum.

If you don't have space for the amp there are a number of units on the market that act as a sound card pre-amp for use with turntables.

We have seven milk crates completely full of records, as well as a stack of small singles.
Mostly eighties, and hopefull will one day get around to cataloging them. Out of these we picked up around 170 records for the total amount of $30 (which included the two crates that were worth that much alone.) from a garage sale. Hubby wanted to offer them $100-$150, but left it to me to haggle. I refused to make an offer and finally the lady hesitantly asked if $30 was alright. Needless to say no argument from me, so I bought them.

I've got a few, but not many. Some I found in OP Shops (went hunting after my step brother found an MC Hammer vinyl for 50c which he refuses to sell to me despite not owning a record player), and a couple I snagged off eBay.

Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, Rose Tattoo.

Yeah, there's some real classy acts.

I have many, many Viniyls, and, because some of the Wife's music is still released on vinyl, I continue to add to my collection, i.e, Gwen Stefani. I still like the sound of Vinyl, compared with C.Ds although some of my favorite vinyl's are now also in C.D form, as I played them to an extent where they stopped working. I have a copy of the Triple M Radio station theme, called "Because your ears have brains", which will never be converted to C.D, as whilst that Vinyl still works, I will be using a turntable, however, I have started to convert my collection, because a Vinyl record isn't convenient to listen to in a car, however my iPod is.

Have a reasonable collection of off beat vinyl just looking around for a decent turntable and amp and speakers...pref Goldring Lenco for tt and for amp and speakers maybe Bose.
