Question child/baby seat recommendations?

Have to purchase a baby seat for my AU1 falcon. Anyone here have anything to recommend...especially in terms of something that fits well (have been told the angle of the back seat means that it suits some child seats better than others). Its going to have to be one of those 0-4 age ones.

thanks.

I use the Safe and Sound "Royale" model in my XR8 and would use one again. Came in over the $300 mark when I bought it (I'm in WA), so a bit pricey.

But it does fit rather well and with my dark interior the seat cover matches pretty good too.

We also interchange this seat into our 4WD when we go off-roading (otherwise just a booster is used for onroad transport) and it is a very capable seat rocking and rolling in that environment as well.

Hope this helps you some.

When we had the twins, I bought 2 of the Aunger ones. They are made under license by Safe'n'sound - or someone like that. They fit well. The aungers are good as they come with an infant insert, and padded head rests etc.

Then we had our 3rd (3 under 2), and I bought a Mother's Choice, or Mother's Care brand one from K-Mart. You won't believe the price - $37. Long story short, they were placed at the end of an aisle with 49.95 above them, with 20% sale. It should have been $180 less 20%. My only regret is that I didn't buy the other 4 boxes that were in the same, wrong, location!! Anyway, these are also made by the same mob as the aungers, but without the extras - which is OK, as the twins were out of the infants insert, so we put that on the new one. Now that all three are forward facing, it's a squeeze, but all 3 baby seats fit across the back of both the sedan and the wagon (both AUs).

The brand of the seats is Mothers Choice, made by In Good Care. Other brands in their line up are Bertini, Go Safe, ZuZu, Holden, Aunger, & Disney.

We've just bought a Mothers' Choice 'Model 1000' (racy!) Nice and cheap - about $160 - from Target, and can face forwards and backwards.

We brought a Safe-N-Sound Premier Retractable. Very good Seat, was around $250 from Baby-Co, when she was rear facing we still had to put towels under the rear of the Seat because of the angle of the Rear Seat. Was defiantly worth paying the extra for the Retractable one as you just have to push a button to tighten the shoulder straps, not pull the cord like the one in our other car. Also is a dark Seat which match's the Interior well..

I also use the Safe n Sound Royale in both our cars a XR6T and a 2000 Laser, both of us are extremely happy. I also got a black one which we are told are very hard to get, it suits the XR6T interior alot better.

Default Best baby Seats

Hi Guys,

I have just been through this exercise and I have opted for a two seat system.

1) A capsule for the child up to 1 year
2) A seat after the age of 1

The capsules are far safer than a convertible seat for an infant.

I decided to import my child seats as I prefered the european designs as they are far cooler and they enabled me to integrate the baby capsule with my pram/stroller. This allows me to clip our baby into the pram and then clip it into the car (it has a permanent base that stays in the car) when we want to move again.

Plus they look sooo much cooler than the Kmart brands..

My choices were the " Maxi Cosi CabrioFix" and the "Recaro Young Sport"

Check them out at...

www.maxi-cosi.com

www.recarochildseats.com

Expensive but they are in a different league to the seats we have here in terms of looks and quality.

Regards
Engineer

Aunger are a good seat as mine is now onto the second child and never had a problem with it ,the blue one matches the interior as well so you can't go wrong!

Don't ya mean a few months? My daughter was in one for a few months then she went into a rear facing seat then forward facing at about 7 months (7kgs)... I think they only have to be in a capsule until then can support there neck?

Totally agree there, we brought one off EBay for about $100 & got a base from a op shop for the other car, the capsule slotted into both bases..
