My engine temp barely ever gets past the N...it usualy sits a few mm above the normal range starting point
is this too low? is there any problems that can be cuased by this? cheers |

mine used to do that. i replaced the thermostat and now its in the O most of the time. if your car thinks its running cold it'll stay in the warmup loop and your performance/economy will suffer.

see thats the thing...i thought myabe if the fuel isn't heated enough i might not be getting good combustion...i have no idea.....my economy is more than fine (9.8l/100)
may suss out the thermostat...also would me runnin an extra oil cooler have any impact on the engine temp |

the temp gauge on the cluster is only a gauge of the water running though the system, not of the actual engine. an oil cooler is always good in a place like brisbane. can be bad in colder climates i've heard. a cool engine is a happy engine though.

Are you running an extra engine oil or trans oil cooler? Engine oil cooler would make a difference to the coolant temp.
If the car is running cold, the ECU will run rich, to act as a choke until the car gets hot.
