Basically my AUII I6 (110000kms) has started to have a nice knock thats gotten a lil bit louder lately.. Been told to try running and SAE-50 grade oil. U think this seems a litlbe bit of a difference in grades considering FORD say 10w30?
The knock is common for these AU's it seems as its been mentioned in a new bulletin being sent to all ford dealers. (But I'll let you guys know the exact details when i read it on monday when the cars in for new brakes) |

10w30 is too thin in my opinion, its what I have in my car now(Penrite HPR10), rather than the normal 15w30, and you can just 'feel' and tell its not the right oil for it.. tappy on start up, and general noises have arisen since changing oils, im going back to HPR15 next service.
Try a 15w30 and see how you go? I use Penrite HPR15 |
