Community Builder: In recognition of those who have helped build the AFF community. - Issue reason: Raptor: For Continued, and prolonged service to the wider Ford Community
Default Important Announcement

Most of you will, by now, be aware that we took the action of removing one of the E-Series moderators, EFFalcon, earlier this week.

Subsequent to that action being taken we reviewed the process that had been followed and identified some internal issues with the way in which the action had been taken and thus I posted the apology thread.

I have since had a broad ranging discussion with John in which he expressed his concerns, some of which were valid, with a view to resolving the obvious animosity towards this forum that he was feeling.

As a result of those discussions we are going to reinstate John to his moderator position with some changes as follows:

1. Moderator access will be restricted to the E-Series club areas.
2. Access to the moderator forum will not be available during a probationary period.
3. A mentor (in this instance myself) will be appointed to assist him in these duties.

This entire experience has been a learning process for all of us and I would trust that this change is accepted in the spirit that it is intended. There will be further changes to the moderation team in this area within the next few weeks along with some procedural changes and the addition of mentors for all new moderators.

John will be posting a prepared statement below.

Regards
Russ

As many of you would have seen there has been plenty of debate over the last few days regarding my position on this forum, (not the
E-Series club, there was never intent to leave the Eseries club). After further discussions with the Administrator team i am now aware of the that there was a much better course of action that could have been taken.

I acknowldge that some of my actions prior to my demotion were not in keeping with the standard expected of that position and there is some improvement to be made on my part. I hope the administration team will accept my apology for this matter and we can work together in the future to improve both AFF and the E-Series Owners Club.

I thank you all for your loyalty and patience in this matter; it is great to see this amount of passion for both your forums and your club.

Cheers, John.

Good work guys, i saw the apology discussion before i saw the discussions post prior to the bannings. Im happy to see that finally everyone has come to a calm and adult reasoning.

Often in the heat of the moment people have lost their cool and lashed out in quite inapproiate behaviour. Unfortunatley it can happen to the best of us. This is why im glad to see that both the Admin Team and John both finally cooled down and Reasoned the situation out.

May nothing like this occur again due to the lessons learnt and experience gained. To the both the admin team and John, my continued support, you have not as yet made what i think is a entirely poor decison and always acted in good faith, and i hope you both continue to grow and develop what is an outstanding forum.

Cheers
Joe
