Default Perth Dealer Service Query

If this is somewhere else on the forum, please point me to it. Thanks.

I recently bought a BA LPG wagon with a couple of warranty issues, mainly just began auto flaring on 2/3 shift - feels a bit serious. I would like to take to dealer with known good auto trans experience if possible.

South of river - Titan Ford, Range Ford, Park Ford or Midway Ford are all as convenient as each other for me.

Any comments on good / bad service you may have had at these dealers? Especially auto trans warranty work.

Thanks

Everyone has good and bad service at all of the dealers, I use titan and have not had a real problem, once thay understood how I operate. I just show them any stone chip or scratch and they know not to wash it. And If there is a problem they will call me.
And stand your ground when it coes to there fancy booking system. They book you in and confirm times etc (even text you confirmation) and then want the car all day!
The first couple of times I went in it was for a 10.50am appointment (roundabout), and they wanted the car all day. I say no, the sheet says 1.5 hrs work, I want to watch the ute go on the hoist and will be back in 1.5 hrs to pick her up. If they want it all day no problem but I need to be organised.

John

You're a hard man, John!
I work the other way - "Have the thing as long as you want - just fix it properly". Damn annoying though when you give them all the time they want but they still have excuses for their work.
Thanks for the info - it sounds like they are doing the job OK.

I bought my girl off Centre ford,

When she went in for her first service they did the clutch upgrade as well, unfortunately they told me at 4:30 pm they would need her for another day as it was the first clutch upgrade they had done .....Cripes I was not happy.

Well since then I have used Titans and cannot complain. AS for John .... he just hates to be seperated from his pride and joy any longer than he has to :hihi:

I can understand that _2:

cheers

Peter

They're all sh1t, unless you spend half a mil with them every year they dont care about you, anymore than the next guy. I've had experience with 3 different centres here in Perth, and they all start out good but when it comes time for warranty they dont want to know you.

I will agree with ya there, you have to keep on em, but warranty has never been a strong point with ford. I dont expect any now with the mods etc.

Titan know me now, and say yes sir :hihi: The ute always goes in clean and I have em worried about leaving fingerprints.
You're a hard man, John!
I just dont like being dicked around, If I have a problem that is not known they can have the girl for the day, for general sevicing I have an appointment.
I mean I can run a dozen cranes all over the city and be within 30 minutes of a booking time. If thats no good for the client he kicks my *** and I have to hire a crane of the opposition. I guess my hard line comes from my job, I have 800 bosses, I dont get to be nasty very often. (You can only be nice ******** client for so long without venting somewhere it: )

Anyway general opinion is Titan are the best of a sad bunch

Thanks for the replies.

As it turned out the auto trans problem got a bit urgent, and as it was convenient for a mate to lend me a car in the area, I took it to Park Ford in Bentley (the new dealer) - without booking ahead.
I had a 45K service and 4 warranty issues (2 major ones) and I had it back after 3 days (not bad considering it was not booked ahead and required a replacement auto trans).
There was no quibbles with the warranty work and everything seems to have been done OK.
Considering I am the second owner, I was quite happy with getting the warranty repairs on a 2003 car, and with the general attitude and service of Park Ford.
I hope others get the same service.
Cheers.

just had my first 3000k service at Lynford in osy park to my BF XR8 ute & found the "personlised" attention afforded me by the mechanic to be exceptional ( not that any thing gets done at 3000k's ) but i can only be pleased with the way i was treated & will be giving them the business @ the 15000k mark. I was going to send it to my regular mechanic i have been using for years that services my taxi, but i will go with the ford dealer that i brought it from. Will keep my regular mechanic for my taxi, he knows my cab inside & out...

Louie.

the last bit of work on my Falcon was done by mcinerney ford in morley. they took out the old CD player (premium sound) and put in a new item. they managed to scratch the facia around the head unit. by the time i noticed, it was too late to complain. it was the last straw and i sold the car and will never buy a new ford again or deal with a ford dealer again.

Funny enough I bought my XR6 from a HOLDEN dealership in Osborne Park! Excellent people skills there... and very friendly.

On the other hand... When I was interested in trading up to a XR8 a while later I went into Ford, Osborne park. I came here twice... once with my lady and once by myself... both times I found the used car salesman to be totally rude and arrogant. He kept showing us cars we weren't interested in (older models, wrong transmission) and once he even asked my partner if she was a student still in his arrogant tone when she's actually a Auditor.

A month later when I needed to book it in for a service I called osborne park Service Center because they were closest to me. I got a grumpy service guy on the phone and he told me they were extremely busy. When I asked if I could get a courtesy drop off he told me no and that I should try Wangara (which is a lot further away from me) also in a nasty tone.

Me and my partner are never going back to FORD OSBORNE PARK!!

I had my car up at NUFORD Wangara and they were very proffessional and very friendly.
