it will give less strain on the engine
but in my opinion thermo's keep the block as kool as the old clutch fan's ther are in some fact's thermo's are a good upgrade like if u have a V8 or a hair dryer hanging of the side:P if u want it lowered it depend's on you'r insurance company some one let u go lowere them 20-40mm then you'r factory ride hight (correct me if im wrong) but i'd go super low King spring's thay give you'r car a nice stance with out alot of scrapidge cruise control can b add'd pritty easy go to you'r local ford wreaker and see wut thay have to say but it's is defanetly posible and look around a wreaker for a fairont/ghia for a set of electric window motor's ther about 100 buck's each i think but you'l need the loom and a fairmont centre console plus the button's pat |

^^^ Now wtf was the point of that post. Thermo fan conversion shouldn't set you back more than $260, a new set of EF/EL thermo fans is about $220 + some wiring, relays etc.

Dorifto accident:
Could be one of many parts, but have a look at tie rod end, top strut plate/bearing, wheel alignment. Better still bring it to a few suspension places and ask their opinion. |

IMO thermo conversions are a waste of time. Anyone got any proof they actually add power on a E-SERIES? Like a dyno printout? The belt still has to turn the water pump so it's going to be doing the exact same thing as before. Only difference is that the clutch fan is not going to be there. It doesn't take any power for the motor to turn the fan normally anyway, the fan only engages it's clutch when the motor gets to a certain temp (too hot)....such as when you sit in traffic. And I don't think your gonna need the extra kw then.

yeah sphell...clutch fans are horrible!!!
I dont hvae any evidence, but when I had my EA T5 it seemed to rev a tad easier, its not much, but its definately better. plus as Damo said, clutch fans sound like a WW1 plane

First time I gave my XR a rev with thermos installed I nearly hit 6000rpm (aftermarket ECU, so I have a higher rev limit)
Engine feels smoother, quiter at idle, and more top end power. I dont think down low it has made much of a difference.

If the fan clutch is stuffed it will definately make a noticeable difference.
You certainly won't lose power if you fit thermo fans....
