Default What style handbrake does your E-series have?

If it has the first style, (series 1 EA) and you know how to change it, could you tell me how? :

Everything is out, it's just the top bit of the outercasing of the cable assembaly that rests up against the metal frame that holds the actual handle doesn't want to budge, and I was wondering if there is a procedure on how to remove it...

My Girlfriend does, she avoids them when she can..

My EF has the standard pull up one beside the drivers seat & the centre console, one of the best things Ford did was change to that!

From my experience there are 2 types of handbrakes - one is a sloppy one that doesn't do anything - the other one is adjusted up too tight, that seems to be a drag.
