whats it worth to have another transmission fitted?
thinking of something like a fresh EL auto? is it a straight swap? mine is getting clunky. will still last but just interested....

i wasz loking at doing this aswell, its a straight swap for an EL one...will bolt up no worries....given that yours is an ED ill guess is the 4spd....if so u wont have any problems

not sure on cost for the tranny, you could pick one up for around 500 i quess, not sure about labour cost tho, wouldnt take more than a couple of hrs

Considered getting a 5 spd? 2nd hand autos can be hit'n'miss... a recon/rebuilt will be expensive...
I guess the same thing can be said of the T5 tho...

It may be cheaper to service your transmission than to replace it. It may get rid of the problem.

Most places will charge something in the order of $250 to remove/fit a box, best one to get is a s1 EF box. Its the newest ans still has a dipstick for easy servicing. Fit a big tranny cooler too

Have you had it serviced and flushed yet? Chances are the fluid could be low/old, the filter might need replacing and the bands tightened. It's worth getting this priced at an auto place and shouldn't cost more than appx. $250; off the top of my head.
