Default engine replacement

Hi guys, a lot of people reckon that its not worth modding a 1.6 heavily. Where would be the place to look for engines that I could replace it with? and how much would I be looking at in terms of price?

Not a lot of engines will fit in the fiesta engine bay. If you are after a different engine probably the best would be the 2L from a current focus but it will be mega $$$.

There are a few super and turbo kit in europe (also heard of one in South Africa) so it might be worth a look there and it will probably be cheaper than a transplant. If you go NA it will be $$$ for gains.

The ST uses a 2lt Mondeo engine. Not sure what model, I think there's something on UKFN about the transplant.

I remember hearing that the one of the better ways to get bigger ponies is to get the Puma 1.7L for the Fez. Shame they're not exactly thick on the ground here.

There were 3 XR5's on Carsales in just SA last week for sale. All these stories about having to wait are lies (unless you want a choice of colour or special options I guess?)
