Can anyone tell me how to get the 2 sercurity bolts that hold the air bag on a AU2 out. i have been to a Ford dealer and they didnt have the tool! they told me to buy them from a tool shop, which i did and found that the hole in the torx toll was too small. went back and was told thats the only hole size!!!!

I just did mine yesterday and didn't use the specific ford tool. In one of my screwdriver bit kits I had a set of flat blades with notches cut out the centre, I have no idea what they are used for but one of those fit perfectly. Otherwise you could just cut up a smallish flat blade screwdriver to do the same thing, much cheaper than the $30-60 ford usually want and work just as good.

Flat blade with centre bit removed works a treat.

JC, I reckon you should do a "how to" with pics on this steering wheel (including switches) and airbag removal topic. Would be good for when I eventually get a momo wheel.

*GK kicks himself yet again for not buying JC's black and gray Momo wheel and gear shifter!*

GK if it makes you feel better, I ended up with the wheel and T Bar. I am another forum goer who has bought parts from JC.

With the amount of parts JC seems to sell, I wonder could he build a car with them.

OK, let's see. I have 2 spare front bars. One rear bar. A pair of skirts. 2 spare steering wheels, a spare centre facia (radio surround). A spare radio. A complete exhaust system for a 6. 6 spare wheels and tyres (one flat, though). Spare coil pack. 3 spare sets of leads. 4 spare door handles (interior). Original AU accelerator and brake pedal covers X 2. A spare gear shifter. A full set of AU1 discs and callipers and pads. A spare set of front and rear springs (stock Forte front, SL rear for IRS). So.....just missing a few body panels, engine, transmission, diff and assorted nuts and bolts. ROFL!

Steering wheels are standard vinyl light grey ones. Exhaust is off the wagon, and is stock 2", or whatever it is, and has holes in the muffler. Free to a good home.
