I've had mine for 12 months and no problems so far. I've only got the 30Gb model though.
I think a few places have them on special atm, which is very rare for an iPod, so good time to buy them. Mine is connected to my pioneer HU in my car, and I can control it using the deck, I can't really think of anything bad about them in my experience.

Well apparently the 60GB ones are now discontinued and are being replaced with the 80GB version for $499. It also comes with a 60% brighter screen and 70% better battery life for videos.
I like them because they have so many accessories and add ons but i've heard the Toshiba Gigabit is a better player but I must admit the apple is so much better looking. Oh and the 6th generation is expected in 2007 so it's a while yet and Microsofts Zule is due later this year if you are prepared to wait |

I prefer psp, it does everything an ipod can and more. Of course the ipod has advantages like 60gb HD on it where as psp's use memory sticks, but being able to play old snes games, watch movies, play psp games, go on the net, blah blah blah, is very good too. Although both will be outdated in a year and it wont really matter.

The 30gb plays about 16 hours of music compared with 20 for the 80gb and video is 4.5 hours on the 30gb and 6.5 on the 80gb. |

How much are PSP's now? Can you put movies off your computer straight to the PSP?

PSP's have not really dropped in price, except you now get a pretty average game free with a value pack. At Target/K-Mart ect they are still about $390 and yes there are programs designed to convert movies to PSP's or to Ipods ect

The Microsoft response is supposed to come out at the end of the year, I thinks it called a Zune. From what I have read, seems mighty impressive, has a feature that I would love, the ability to wirelessly share music with other units, the music stays stored for 3 days allowing you to sample all kinds of music for free.

For the record - I own a 30gig ipod video and it is awesome. This new Zune sounds like it could top it though. We'll see I guess. |

http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1040_22-6097196.html Here's a link I found, not very informative, I can't find the article I was reading, it was 3.4 million times better.
Edit: http://australianit.news.com.au/arti...nbv%5E,00.html Heres the link I was chasing, much more informative.

that Zune thing sounds ok, but is along way from competing with iPOD overall. As the article says they want to be the leaders in innovative technology, Apple will keep up, and have the history of their development to keep sales moving. Zune is new and will no doubt come across issues with their first generation.
Just my opinion

My guess is that the Microsoft Zule will run on windows and have a very nice menu design, much better than the apple version.
Then again it's not as pretty but the wireless feature is a big plus |

I have a 30GB Video iPod. Had it for about 12months.
Stock earphones are rubbish. Itunes is OK when you get used to it. One thing that annoys me is how prone they are to fingerprints and scratches. But hey it plays my music fine although the battery could last a little longer. Would I buy another one? It would take a lot of convincing.. |

I went the Creative Zen 30gb option. Very happy with it.
Watching videos on the train to work is the best.

Mate has creative Zen 30gb and other than size being slightly bigger than ipod, I liked the look of it.
