Depends on what system you install
There are 2 different systems available 1) The old carby system 2) The new vapour sequential injection system ( There's also a liquid injection system , but it's not available in Australia yet. Same fuel economy as petrol ,and more power than petrol. Holden and Ford will be fitting it by 2008 ) How many K's / litre do you get now ? With the old carby system you'll have about 25-30 % loss eg if you're now getting 8 k's / litre now , you'll get 51/2 to 6 k's/ litre on gas With the gaseous injection system you'll have about 10-15% loss I don't know what they're charging at the moment , but a couple of months ago the prices were around $21/2k for the carby set up and $31/2 k's for the gas injection system As far as I know the best sytem for the carby set up is Impco and The best systems for gaseous injection is either Prins or Tartarini I suggest you go for the injected system It's a more accurate metering system So firstly , it's a much cleaner ,environmentally sound system - you're putting a lot fewer pollutants into the air Secondly it's more economical ( more k's / litre ) so if and when the price of LPG rises it'll still be cheaper to run than petrol Thirdly there's also slightly more power than the carby set up Fourthly , no chance of backfire ( with possible damage to your engine ) |

in terms of fuel economy, LPG injection as liquid will still have a loss compared to petrol, its just in the nature of the fuel.
power on the other hand is correct, can go up. but give the petrol car a good tune up with an aftermarket ECU and the power would be very similar.

Hi, I get just over 400 kms on a 67 ltr. (~16 ltr/100kms)tank in a mixed mode (freeway and city).
it's less than $30 dollars to fill up (provided you found a cheap LPG station, I recommend motormouth.com.au price check in your neighborhood)) |

Thanks guys those figures helped me a lot. I ended up buying a 2005 Holden Combo. Fuel wise it works out about the same as a Falcon wagon on LPG but with a hell of a lot more space.
