Default AU's with driving lights

Hi Guys and Gals, i was just wondering if i could see a few pic's of AU non-XR's with driving lights in the lower bumper. It just so happens, as discovered by Ben at the AFF nats, i have a relay in the engine bay and a switch under my hood release on the bottom of the dash! This goes to some cut wires in front of the battery, so we cam to the conclusion that my car has had lights of some sort at some point in time. So i figured i might as well use the setup and get some lights, so i am after some ideas of how people have mounded the lights in a stock Falcon bumper. Cheers!

Thats not too bad. It looks like you had to remove the black covers there on each side, is that true?

Yer...you would have to remove the black plastic covers unless they are very, very thin lights.

i'm trying to think about how i would be able to get a set of lights into the plastic covers themselves actually. maybe somehow cutting a hole in the middle and fitting them in there somehow. do you know if there is enough room?

thanks AU3_Chaser, thats what i am going for, looks good! Do you think i could possibly fit bigger lights in there though, or is there not enough room behind the cover? i'm thinking more a size that would sit in the centre of the plasic cover, like the size of the ones Kenz has on the ute, or even the ones on the above XR6.

If you compare my black plastic covers with an unmodded set, you'll see that I had to bring mine forward to accomodate enough room. There is a main front chassis bar right behind the black cover, hence, why I moved mine forward, which still rub on the frame behind. Unless you can do plastic moulding, and replace the cover with a whole unit, I wouldn't bother. Personally, just put the lights in the mouth of the bumper, at least you can adjust angles then...

They're 17 x 8s and trying to find them is like looking for hens teeth.

Nobody ever reproduced them.

A guy was selling a brand new set in boxes on eBay about 7-8 months ago and I couldn't buy them. Still kicking myself.

FTG had a set about 4 months ago. Try them. I would have bought them myself but I didn't want to buy a set over the phone without looking at them. Wound up with BA XR6T wheels instead. Just not the same....

There just a cheap set I picked up from Big W, they are aunger lights & only cost around $25, but they have glass lense & metal housing. They are bright but arent that great of a driving light. The reason i have them is because i do alot of daytime driving on highways and wanted to run with lights on, but i was running 80w/100w in my headlights and kept going through them as they just get to hot in the day, so bought a set of these to run with. They still give extra light at night, they brighten up everything around the car, and i use them for a bit of fill on raining nights down low (I have them pointed very low). They look good on the car, & are bright but as said not that good as a driving light, although if you swapped over the standard 55w H3 Bulb in them to an OptiBlue or maybe even higher wattage they may be better.

See http://www.aunger.com.au/hidden/item...379255747.html

And yeah i love those rims to, you do occasionally see them for sale on Ebay and in the trading post but they dont last long and very rarely come up.

I used to have some driving lights fitted but they were too low to be any good. I swapped them for a set of clear side repeaters now. Its all in the gallery.
