Crikey! I am most likely stating the obvious but have you phoned her friends, checked her fave hangouts. Any loosers been giving her a hard time??

Unfortunatly the cops won't do much till a certain time has lapsed.

yeah true, but then again her friends might not tell you if you call em, specially if she asks them not to.

i seriously hope shes alright and back home nice and safe

my younger bro used to do it alot, pretty scary when you cant find them and you dont know where to look.

Do you have a cloe friend that can collect her that she knows? Is she underage? In an unsafe situation?

Would you feel comfortable phoning the 1800 hotline number for community services...may be worth a try.

Thanks Gran .......

AN executive decision has been made & my B/F has gone to collect her as he is under the limit .......... not something that she is going to enjoy .... a 5hr trip back home with him & hes going to have to be on full alert as we are for a fair while I spose ........

Now I have a little time I will let you all know that she was planning to go to her father ........ I now am led to believe hes in MT Isa ......you would think considering DOCS were the ones who ensured I hae an AVO including no contact with the children they would have helped a little more than telling me that if she got o the bus to call the QLD police..............

Tonight I have felt completly stranded & not one of the people I spoke to seemed to want to help me out at all, one police officer asked what I wanted and then laughed at me when all I asked was to keep her from getting on a bus .... he said where do you want me to take her ......I cant do that ......... for christ sake ... shes 13.........

Im now led to believe that we as parents really have no rights whatsoever &kids can go where & whenever they please ...........Well this is what Ive been told by both the police & DOCS ................. :

thats an absolute disgrace they way youve been "helped"

you should try and lodge a complaint with someone, dunno if it would help, but might stir things up a bit in there

Lisa that is shocking. I have a 10 year old daughter and my kids have a crap father as well, so if she did this to me, I would go off my nut. I soooo feel for you. I hope she is ok when you do find her, and that she understands how she has scared the shit out of you and everyone else.... maybe this will teacher her a lesson...

Thinking of you. And let us know how it goes tomorrow too!

Im glad to hear shes home safe Lisa. Its the first thing I went to check when I got online! Must have been a relief when they got home! I guess it is tense, but thankfully things worked out re her safety... I guess you have the rest of the weekend to discuss things.

Good luck mate. And try and rest up a bit, after such a long, stressful night...

Oh geez, I'm so glad you got her back safe and sound!

DOCS are hopeless as are the police.

Might be time to put some window locks and dead locks on the doors Lisa. :(

Glad you got her back. Freaked me out when I read the thread.
I don't know, I would never have even thought about running away when I was a kid.
Even from hearing some of the things my younger cousins do now, I can't help but thing that the laws are screwy. They run riot, and theres nothing their grandparents can do about it.

woah lisa i am shocked - but glad she is home safely

it is a bit of a worry, and a hard one to combat too - you dont really want to feel the need to imprison your kids, but its going to be hard not to.

any idea what caused her to want to see her father all of a sudden? or has it been brewing for a while?

Glad to hear she's back home safe.....

As for DOCS, they aren't my favourite government department, nothing but lies and bs from them. They get involved when you don't want them, and don't give the assistance they should when you do approach them..

Finally beat them in court, and my daughter is back home. Everything we found out about the foster carers, ie 18yo son getting to close and personal to my then 15yo daughter,, official result was parents over reacting and nothing happened. When daughter was attacked by another foster kid and developed peritonitis (ie same as Latham) DOCS ignored our complaints and it was me who took her to hospital,,, again, parents over reacting and nothing was wrong.... It was fortunate that I was not allowed within 50metres of the local DOCS office for 12 months (minor legal issue), as I've calmed down a lot.

I know for a fact he will be majorly ****ED OFF when I ring him on Monday ......
