Well, I picked up my beautiful AU2 last Friday night, had it less than a week, and my front two windows (electric) seem stuck down at the moment :(
They have always seemed a little on the slow side going up for the first half then accelerate until they are fully closed, but tonight I rolled them down, lucky if I can get the drivers one two centimetres up, the passenger goes about quarter the way up before dying, and that's with a struggle. The funny thing is they seem to go down again fine, its just the going up they don't like. Anybody else had this problem? Got any quick fixes? Because I'll be taking it to get looked at on Saturday morning if I can't get the buggers up! I can't leave them down all weekend or its going to be a major security issue, not to mention an interior niceness issue if it rains! The rear windows (non-electric) seem to wind up and down fine with no issues or difficulty on the handles. Hopefully this problem I have is the first and only problem I have for a long time!

try lubricating the window runners, there have been a couple of threads on how to do this and what to use, also try cleaning the contacts in the power window switches

Yep if they are sticking on the way back up, it's usually just a build up of old rubber from the window seal stuck on the window, causing the rubber stuck to the window to bind to the rubber seal. Bit of wd-40 works, helps remove the old rubber on the window and lubricate it. Nothing major .

wd-40 works, but not real well. A couple of weeks later it will bind again. go down to supercrap and buy yourself some silicone spray (lubricant). Smells nice lol & will do the job for months

I ended up using Vaseline. It does not work. It turned to like glue, and my windows got stuck after two days. So I went and got my little tyre blackening silicon pads and gave them a rub, and hey presto, 2 months and still perfect.

Try using the window button like 40 times in a row back and forth, this fixes it sometimes.

LOL Sledgehammer, I tried that last night when they wouldn't work at first. You are right at saying "fixes it sometimes", unfortunately mine wasn't one of those times.
The silicone spray worked a treat, the windows go up ten times faster than they were when I picked the car up. Probably handy to keep the can of stuff on hand too in case they go again. The help is much appreciated. Thanks!
