Picked up an EB2 XR8 today and have to fix or replace the pedal box. While looking under the dash I found this zip tied to the steering column. I think it might be a security system (has FORD sticker on it ) as wiring appears to be coming from the loom. Any info would be helpful.

Is it worth getting operational again or are you better just removing it. I suspect you have some sort of remote for it (which I do not have) so it may be more trouble than it's worth. I did notice a spring loaded switch under the bonnet (r/h/f).

not really, in the EL it was hooked up through the smartlock remote, so only the 1 remote...
if you dont have the remote its not worth bothering with.....alarms are so much better these days that i'd remove it even if it were oporational just to fit a newer one |

Thanks LUXO_8 for the info. I am going to see about a remote for it anyway but as you say the alarms have improved that much since this was installed that I will just remove it.Who knows how long since it has worked ,might be had it anyway!!
