Hey guys just wondering if anyone has ever tried putting ED seats into an ef or el. I know the opposite is done regularly but ive had a look at underside of both seats and the rails are not interchangeable and the ED mounting points are way out for my car.
So any ideas? Other than fabricating new mounts on standard rails i got no clue as to my next step. |

if you make your own rails you will need engineers cert
if you make custom mounting holes you will need engineers cert how much do you like your ED seats? engineers cert = roughly $300.00 inc brad

i already have ef fairmont seats, they are standard seats with different fabric (crap) and ED ghia seats look a hell of a lot better in my opinion and are more supportive. back seats are all in an make the car look very different so im definitely goin to finish it off. i dont really like any of the ef/l ghia leather it looks like dodgy vinyl and im not a fan of the rounded plushy seats they have.
mod plate also = easy for myself, especially considering i need one for my turbo anyway so all the mod codes will go onto one plate im not worried about that. |

EF seats into EB require a spacer to be made up so that the seat sits properly on one of the rear brackets.
doing the opposite would require cutting the bracket off the EB/ED seat and making it go flat.

Correctamundo there John. Have fun grinding off that inside bracket though, its fairly well welded on! But once you have it off, its just a case of lining the rail up with the mount on the trans tunnel, and drilling a hole in the rail if necessary so it lines up.
