Well i was looking through some of the old articles on the net, about Barra and doing a bit of reading on the old R5 concept and i just noticed how fantastic some of the 'AV' concepts were.
Ill dig some pictures up, and i am also interested in seeing if anyone has some wheels or motor articles from the era (my magazine stash doesnt go back quite that far). But some of the sketches looking quite fantastic, maintaining the AU's fast back, merc syling whilst cleaning up the front end to look a lot sharper and ditching the large AU headlights, but keeping the tight curved rear end, not the Audi style BA one. It is really interesting seeing some of the ideas that were floating around, Fords R5 concept proabably wasnt the best as it is pretty much half way between an AU and a BA. But certainly think some of the concepts were interesting, and im wondering if Ford has look back at them at all for forward direction for Orion as a few of them look very modern and Orion will still share a lot of AU/BA hardpoints. Anyone want to add their 2c?

If Ford have of followed through with the R5, do you guys reckon we would've seen as many Crewmans on the road, if at all?
I personally think Ford made a mistake not following through with it, and Holden capitalised.

R7! LOL- you would have thought Ford would have seen the way that sounds saying it out loud!
Maybe they eventually did and Territory sounded far less homosexual........

I still think Ford should at least try and bring out a Crewman competitor... but with the way things are looking at Ford in the US, can't really see it happening.
